Urban Decay Is Kicking Shine To The Curb

Do you take the time in the mornings to apply your makeup flawlessly only to have your face oilier than the BP oil spill by 9 a.m.??  If this is you, Urban Decay has a solution for you!  Okay, enough with the infomercial already.  Urban Decay De-slick in a Tube ($28) has helped me tame my oil well oily skin.  It is a gel that mattifies your skin and can be worn underneath or on top of your makeup.  It dries clear and leaves no trace of residue.  I have tried it both over and under my makeup, though I prefer to use it under my makeup.  The way I apply it is over my face primer and under my foundation with my fingers, dabbing it over my oily prone areas.  And trust me, a little goes a long way.

Ladies and Gents, I have finally found the product that stops me from looking like a greasy mess by mid-morning!  I haven't had to use the oil blotting sheets since I purchased this (and that's a BIG deal).

Urban Decay De-slick in a Tube is available at urbandecay.com, Ulta, and Sephora.

MAC Venomous Villains Collection

I was invited to the VIP unveiling party of the much anticipated MAC Venomous Villains collection.  It was held on September 21 at the Galleria MAC store.  The collection is a collaboration between MAC and Disney for Disney's most notorious villains.  While the collection will not officially launch until September 30, I was given a sneak peak and allowed to purchase to my little hearts desire.  The party was quite fun, there were hors d'oeuvres and cocktails to go around.  There were makeup artists that would transform you into your favorite Disney villain.  It was so crowded that I wasn't able to actually view anything up close, but I already had an idea of what I wanted.  I purchased two blushes and a nail lacquer.  Cue the pictures!

I was also interested in Briar Rose Beauty Powder but wanted to view it in person to see if it suited my skin tone.  I guess I'll have to wait until September 30th.  I also picked up an emply 15 pan eye shadow palette so I can store all my MAC shadows in one place.  It gets real annoying in the mornings going through all of those eyeshadows to find which ones I want to use!

Urban Decay Heard Our Cries!

Urban Decay finally listened to their Primer Potion fans and released a more practical package for the cult favorite. The new limited edition Professional Size Primer Potion comes in a tube with a needle nose end. The original package, while cute and all, was not very practical. A lot of the product would get lost in the curves of the genie bottle, and you would have to cut it open to depot it (lots of depotting tutorials on YouTube). Also the doe foot applicator of the original bottle is less than sanitary, especially is you're using it on other people.

The professional size is 25 ml compared to the 16.3 ml of the XL size bottle and 10 ml for the regular size bottle. I paid $23 for the XL size bottle. The professional size retails for $29 at urbandecay.com and Sephora. Since I am a huge fan (click here for my product rave review), I promptly placed my order from Sephora. Here are some comparison pictures.

Chanel Les Khaki de Chanel Nail Collection

Chanel released a collection of 3 limited edition Le Vernis Nail Colours on September 10 for Vogue's Fashion's Night Out. They are Khaki Rose, Khaki Brun, and Khaki Vert. The colors are ultra sophisticated and perfect for Fall. They retail for $25 at chanel.com, Chanel boutiques, and select Chanel counters. I've been stalking my local Chanel counter hoping to grab Khaki Rose. $25 is a lot for a nail polish, but for many of us, it may be some of the only Chanel that we will own. That's how I am justifying it :)

Fall Trends That I Am Loving

With the Fall season upon us, I've been slowly putting away my Spring/Summer clothes. These are the Fall trends that I am totally digging:
1. Tailored Coats

2. Full Hemlines

3. Structured Suits

4. Femine Volume

How gorgeous is that DVF dress??? I think I'm in love! I am loving the muted colors for Fall, so classic and elegant. What I love about Fall fashion is the ability to layer pieces like a chic trench over a dress.

Product Review: Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner

I stumbled upon Maybelline's gel eyeliner while browsing my local drug store. It is part of their eye studio line which is supposed to have professional quality products. Let me just say that I LOVE this eyeliner! I've actually had the black for about two months now and I just picked up the brown. It is so smooth and creamy and easy to apply. The black is a true black. It gives a great dark dramatic line that stays ALL DAY. I'm not kidding, this stuff does not budge! I apply this to my upper lash line, so I can't speak for its staying power on the waterline and lower lash line. It comes with a brush so it is great for those who are new to gel liners. I like the brush but I prefer my Sonia Kashuk bent eye liner brush. I find it easier to handle for me. You get three grams of product which is the same amount of product as Bobbi Brown and MAC's gel eyeliners but for a fraction of the cost. The Maybelline liner retails for $8.99 as compared to $15 for MAC and $21 for Bobbi Brown. The Maybelline liner comes in four colors, Blackest Black, Brown, Charcoal, and Eggplant. I highly recommend this eyeliner!
