Unless you live under a rock, you've heard that Target stores did a collaboration with the Italian designer Missoni. I love the distinct print of Missoni, however, it is not very budget friendly with dresses priced at $1,250! I have been looking forward to this collab for months, so when it released, I was there bright and early. Here is a video of what I purchased along with my experience with the eBay scalpers.
Were you able to get anything from the collection?

Rainy Day Chic
It has been rainy and cold (at least Houston version of cold) the last few days and I have had to break out the rainy day gear. To protect my shoes from the water (shoes are an investment!), I wear rain boots. But not just plain rain boots, black and white Zebra rain boots. I absolutely love them! They go with most of my attire and I get a ton of compliments when I wear them. I'll put those on instead of my pumps and have my pumps in my work bag to change into once I get into my office. I wanted a versatile rain coat (not a plastic one) so I chose a chic rain trench coat that is red. It is perfect for protecting my clothes and can be worn when it's not raining. Let's face it, who wants to make an arrival in wet, rain spotted clothes! When I chose my rain gear, I looked for a classic color for my coat and a funky pair of boots. I knew I would get more wear out of my trench, so I picked fun rain boots. I found a few pieces on the web to show you.
What's your rainy day gear?

I'm A Sucker For Accessories
Have you ever looked at an outfit, whether it be on you or someone else and think, "that needs a necklace"? For me, an accessory is the finishing touch on an outfit. I have been building my accessories wardrobe lately. I am into statement rings and long necklaces currently, and I love vintage looking jewelry. One of my favorite places to go for affordable accessories is Forever 21. They're incredibly inexpensive and always on trend. I picked up six pieces during my last visit. Here is what I got:

As you can see, I sort of have a thing for leaves right now. Side note: I am loving my mint green polish which is so unlike me. It is China Glaze's Re-Fresh Mint. Love, Love, Love it!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Haul
The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is going on now through August 1. I woke up bright and early and got there right at open. I love this sale because you can find great items at phenomenal prices. I picked up a mish mash of things.
This is what I got:
1. Diane Von Furstenberg black pencil skirt
2. Maggie London brown and purple wrap dress
3. Nars Hopelessly Devoted beauty kit that included a Deep Throat/Laguna blush bronzer duo and Orgasm and Crepuscule lipglosses.
4. MAC Rubenesque paint pot
5. Coach Poppy perfume
My favorite is the Diane Von Furstenberg skirt. I adore her clothes and I just love pencil skirts! They are the right mix of sexy and professional.
If you get a chance, go by the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. They have a ton of great buys!

Summer Trend-Lucite Accessories

Lucite jewelry was spotted all over the Spring/Summer 2010 runway shows. From Fendi to Michael Kors, Lucite was everywhere! While browsing Macy's accessories department, I spotted several Lucite jewelry displays. They're such versatile pieces that can me worn with any color because they're...CLEAR. I ended up picking up a Lucite necklace and earrings for $12 total as Macy's was having a phenomenal sale. What I like about the Lucite jewelry is that it adds visual dimension to an outfit, as the pieces tend to be on the chunkier side. I am going limit myself to wearing only one piece of Lucite at a time, as too many pieces can start to look cheap. However, you won't catch me rocking clear Lucite heels...that's just a no no!

Frugal Fashion Find-Cynthia Vincent for Target
I was browsing Target the other day, intending on only picking up the Sonia Kashuk brush, when I made the mistake of going to the shoe department. Okay, so it wasn't exactly a mistake that I ended up in the shoe department. I actually went there looking for some rain boots, when I came across the cutest flat black sandals. They were Cynthia Vincent for Target. Cynthia Vincent is a high end designer whose shoes sell in Bloomingdale's in the mid $200's to high $300's. She did a limited edition collection for Target offering her great designs for an affordable price. These were $24.99. Needless to say, I snagged the last 8 1/2 they had.

I do not normally go for sandals that have straps in between my toes because they irritate me. So I was little concerned about the comfort. Well I have since worn them four times and have had no irritation. They are super comfortable! I urge you to browse your local Target or http://www.target.com/ and check out this awesome designer's super affordable collection!

I did end up making a trip to Juicy Couture for the Friends & Family 20% off event. I've had my eye on a charm bracelet for the longest. I tried it on and found it too chunky for my tiny wrists, so I passed on it. I did however find their fragrance Juicy Couture to be quite nice. I am still deciding if I will purchase it. I normally have to smell a sample for about a week to decide if I like it before I purchase it. I ended up leaving the store empty handed. Oh well.
